The Artist
Indigenous Resistance — Remains Anonymous
Eneas Lacy is an independent singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and Indigenous rights activist. The songs are stripped of commercial polish: minimal instrumentation, vocals and storytelling at the front, and lyrics that keep returning to what was taken, what is sold back to us, and what is still being fought for.
In 2013 he released “Bring Him Out” — a protest song for Leonard Peltier, featuring the late John Trudell and Steve Robideau — on the 38th anniversary of the shoot-out at Oglala. Then he stepped out of public view for thirteen years.
Because of the subject matter he writes about, Eneas Lacy keeps his identity and personal background out of public circulation. He remains anonymous by choice.
